Yukiko Fujino
I was born and raised in Japan, and from an early age, I was strongly influenced by manga and anime culture.
The style of shōjo manga, in particular, is deeply reflected in my current work. Additionally, childhood activities such as coloring books and paper dress-up dolls have significantly influenced my creative process.
I studied art at the Setsu Mode Seminar in Tokyo, and there was a period when I worked as an illustrator.
Recently, I have also taught makeup classes to women, which has further deepened my interest in drawing "women's faces."
I resumed painting seriously during the COVID-19 lockdown period.
During this time, I began using canvas and acrylic paint, which led to significant evolution in my work.
While I studied watercolor at Setsu Mode Seminar and continued to create line drawings and digital illustrations, I discovered that canvas and acrylic paint are particularly well-suited to my expression.
The central theme of my work is "women." I intend for viewers to interpret my work freely, without predefining the meanings or messages within my pieces. I hope each viewer can enjoy my art in their own way.
As I reflect on my work, I realize that my style of drawing vague head shapes symbolizes "free thought.
" The concept of boundless imagination and ideas that cannot be confined has become a new discovery for me and is a concept I wish to explore further.
By working with canvas, I have been able to take on larger projects, and I plan to create even more large-scale works in the future.
In 2024, I signed with Big Eyes Art Gallery in Bologna, Italy, and held both a solo exhibition and several group exhibitions.

私は幼い頃から漫画やアニメ文化の強い影響を受けてきました。
とくに少女漫画のスタイルは、現在の作品にも色濃く反映されています。
また、子どもの頃に夢中になっていたぬり絵や着せ替え人形といった遊びも私の作品に大きな影響を与えています。
東京のセツ・モードセミナーで美術を学び、イラストレーターとして活動していた時期を経て
最近では大人の女性に向けてメイクを教えるようになり、「女性の顔」への関心がさらに深まりました。
本格的に絵を再開したのは、コロナ禍によるロックダウンの時期でした。
その頃からキャンバスにアクリル絵具で描くようになり、自分の表現が大きく進化したと感じています。
セツでは水彩を学び、線画やデジタルイラストも続けていましたが、キャンバスとアクリル絵具が私の表現には相性がよいということに気が付きました。
私の作品の中心的なテーマは「女性」です。
作品に込めた意味やメッセージはあらかじめ限定していません。
見る人それぞれが自由に感じ取って楽しんでいただけたらと願っています。
自分の作品を見つめ直す中で、曖昧な輪郭の頭部を描くスタイルは「自由な思考」を象徴しているのだと気づきました。
枠にとらわれない想像や発想というテーマは、私にとって新たな発見であり、今後も探求していきたいコンセプトです。
キャンバスに描くことで、より大きなサイズにも取り組めるようになりました。
今後は大きなサイズの作品も多く制作していく予定です。
2024年には、イタリア・ボローニャのBig Eyes Art Galleryと契約し、個展やグループ展を開催。
